Capitol Movement Project (CMP): The CMP concert held at Lisner Auditorium, now in its third season, brings together multiple facets of our urban community; from artists, to celebrity choreographers, professional dancers, businessmen and women, and more. The concert explores many genres of dance from jazz, hip-hop, tap, modern…even spoken word and song. Part of their mission is to create opportunities for DC area dancers and artists to train, dance, and perform with top choreographers in the field at prominent venues. By recruiting celebrity choreographers to the District of Columbia, CMP gives underprivileged and undervalued dancers a chance to work with the industry's elite. They also offer scholarships to these aspiring professionals to study locally and abroad, as well as creating professional performance experience to boost their resumes through our annual gala, "The Capitol Movement Project."
